To work in the disability sector, you must maintain current first aid and CPR training certifications.
This must be a nationally accredited course and delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) provider. Online courses from non-registered providers are not acceptable.

There should be plenty of options that don’t cost too much. Blended online and in-person courses are acceptable as long as they have the correct course code.
● HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid and HLTAID010 - Provide an Emergency First Aid response
● HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (or CPR)
These courses have been renamed from HLTAID001, HLTAID002 and HLTAID003.
You must complete first aid (HLTAID010 and HLTAID011) every 3 years and CPR (HLTAID009) every year to remain compliant.
Here's what the cycle looks like. If you completed your first course in June 2023, here's what you need to do each year:
June 2023 - HLTAID011, which covers and HLTAID010 and HLTAID009
June 2024 - HLTAID009
June 2025 - HLTAID009
June 2026 - HLTAID011, which covers and HLTAID010 and HLTAID009
Please ensure you complete the courses again before they expire.
