Dr Dwayne Crombie
ChairDwayne has spent his entire career working in various parts of the healthcare system in both New Zealand and Australia.
His experience has spanned public hospital provision, community-based, mental health and disability services. It has also included funding of public health and disability services, aged care, private health insurance and private healthcare.
Dwayne originally trained in medicine and specialised in public health before moving on to senior management roles.
He worked for global healthcare organisation Bupa for more than 15 years in several Managing Director roles. He most recently led Bupa Australia’s health services and insurance businesses before retiring in 2022.
Dwayne is also the chair of Repromed New Zealand and a director of Southern Cross Healthcare.
As a director he relishes having the opportunity to help guide organisations through the many challenges they face in helping patients, clients and consumers understand and get the services they need and have more say in how those services are delivered.
While proud New Zealanders, Dwayne and his wife Sue have lived for most of the last ten years in Melbourne and become accustomed to both the mad AFL culture and the friendly supportive environment within Victoria.
