Having a ball at Kardinia Park

There was plenty of fun to be had at an inclusive sports day in Geelong this month.

It was game on for InLife client Aaron Sobko at an All Abilities Come & Try Day at Kardinia Park earlier this month.

The day organised by Leisure Networks featured 17 sports to try and Aaron was able to get involved in several including tennis and wheelchair football.

The day also featured special guest appearances from AFLW and AFL Geelong Cats Players including Georgie Rankin, Sam De Koning and Paul Tsapatolis.

Aaron’s sister Amy Sobko said it was a great day out for the whole family.

“It was super social and everyone was so inclusive,” she said.

“Aaron had lots of fun, he loved wheelchair football - wheeling around and having a chat with everyone.”

‘He was also very good at tennis and loved it.”

The chance to meet Geelong Cats players in person was also a highlight.

“He (Aaron) was really excited. Recently, in the last year or two, he’s just loved sitting down and watching the footy.”
